Hello, first time poster, long time lover of the UESP.

I have been trying to get Mjoll the Lioness's follower quest to pick up Grimsever for the past three days.

I'm max level (81) and I've completed every last quest in Riften except the thieves guild quests. I've been Thane'd in Riften and fully decorated my Honeyside home. I can think of no other reason why Mjoll holds out on me other than the simple fact that I fully explored and cleared Mzinchaleft long before I even met her. The spot where the blade is supposed to rest is completely vacant aside from a hide shield.

I was going to use the console command SetLocaitonCleared for Mzinchaleft to see if that can fix my situation, but alas the wiki doesn't provide area location IDs, only name IDs for use with the COC command.

Does anyone know the 8-digit location ID of Mzinchaleft?

EDIT: Should also mention that SetStage FreeformRiften09 doesn't add the quest, nor does consoling in the item to my inventory or at my feet within Mzinchaleft. I've also attempted to SetRelationshipRank with Mjoll from 0 to 4 and still I cannot receive her quest.

Can't you just use the console to put it in your inventory? Grimsever's ID is 00053379.

You can also advance her quest to completion by using the quest ID: FreeformRiften09

Um... I've already mentioned that neither of those work.

Okay, an update.

I finally found the location ID myself through use of the help command (its 00019280 btw). Sadly, the game despite registering it as 'uncleared' doesn't mark it as so on the map, so it may not really work regardless.

I've also attempted to use the "StartConversation", "StartQuest", and "AddTopic" commands but to no avail. I don't honestly understand why "SetStage" isn't working. The command is completely unresponsive.

This has glitch has me at wit's end. I even tried doing the Temple of Mara quests then approaching Mjoll while wearing the necklace to see if that would prompt her to give me the quest since she's a potential marriage option, but nothing happened. I really wanted her for my team since I'm playing more of a righteous paladin type role this time around. I'm extremely annoyed that she openly offered the quest to my murderous thief/assassin character but snubs my hero. Maybe she's secretly into the badguy types.

Nope, I haven't even talked to other companionable NPCs.

I'm beginning to wonder if getting her quest is directly tied to progress in other quests. I haven't even started the main quest yet, or joined a single faction. Maybe these events factor into her check list before the quest is offered. Or maybe since I had already cleared out Mzinchaleft prior to talking with her it somehow glitched it out.

Regardless of the situation, there's clearly more here than meets the eye. I imagine until the CK comes out and we can properly check her requirements, there will be few certain ways to know short of repeatedly playing through and testing various trial and error scenarios.

On xbox, I stumbled into

before meeting Mjoll the lioness. Cleared it & went on my way. (no Grimsever). Sometime later I met Mjoll, After "chatting" with her, something was mentioned about her missing Grimsever. (Not sure what option brought it up). I ran back to my home in Whiterun thinking I might already have it in my "found weapons" chest. I didn't have it so off I go back into

thinking it would be a quick in & out. (map said it was cleared), but everything had respawned along with Grimsever.

Yeah, I've seen other quests that resend you to previously visited dungeons, so I imagine its a glitch/bug/feature associated with other quest line completion.

I'm thinking that since I haven't started the main quest yet that it might be interfering. Either that or I just have some random bug causing me problems. I recently rolled up a new character. Hopefully I won't have issues with this one.
